Let's take a break from all of the speculation. Let's take it back, five years ago this month, to the time when things were simpler. Stan Van Gundy was head coach of the 10-23 Detroit Pistons, winner of five straight games after parting ways with Josh Smith. In the midst of this success, SVG knew he had to protect.

That's when the Pistons put their foot down and set their place forever into the Basketball Meme Hall of Fame.
