Video: Jerami Grant to the Pistons? Detroit Pistons One of Multiple Teams Interested in Free Agent Forward

With big contracts in Andre Drummond, Reggie Jackson, and Langston Galloway off the books – along with a few expiring veterans – the Detroit Pistons will have quite a bit of cap space at their disposal this offseason. While the priorities of the offseason will likely include bringing back standout Christian Wood and acquiring assets by taking on bad contracts, new general manager Troy Weaver may also have some more exciting moves up his sleeve. One of those moves could be bringing in versatile forward Jerami Grant, who spent time with Weaver during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder before latching on with the Denver Nuggets this season. The Pistons reportedly have interest in the 6’9″ Grant, according to Nuggets beat writer Mike Singer. Grant, 26, was an integral part of the Nuggets’ Western Conference Finals run this year, serving as the team’s most integral defender while also showing solid spurts as an offensive weapon as well. Grant averaged 12.0 points and 3.5 rebounds during the regular season, along with 11.6 points and 3.3 rebounds during the playoffs. If he were signed by Detroit, he would likely split time between small forward and power forward, and would consistently guard the opposing team’s best forward.
