The Pistons Continue to Help Flint Water Crisis, Donate $500k
The Detroit Pistons have been very active in helping with the Flint Water Crisis. Owner Tom Gores pledged to raise $10 million from not only himself, but from individuals and companies.
Today, the Pistons announced another contribution to help the crisis. The 15 players on the Pistons roster, along with head coach Stan Van Gundy will donate a combined $500k to the foundation FlintNOW.
"Our owner stepped up and now we're doing the same," said forward Anthony Tolliver. "We've all been touched by the fact that children and families are suffering up in Flint."
"As players and coaches, our focus is on basketball, but our reach extends into the community," Stan Van Gundy said in the media release.
The help must continue in Flint, and the support and donations made by the entire Detroit Pistons organization will help families receive clean water that they desperately need.
