Stanley Johnson Fires Back at Durant and Thunder
After the Pistons defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday night drama ensued. Russell Westbrook and other members of the Thunder had some tough words for Reggie Jackson. Then on Thursday morning, Kevin Durant blasted Reggie Jackson and the Pistons saying, "Who cares about Detroit."
While Reggie Jackson and Stan Van Gundy dismissed the Thunder's comments about them saying that they were focused on winning and making the playoffs.
But, that is not what rookie small forward, Stanley Johnson, said. He was very vocal about the Thunder and Kevin Durant specifically.
Quotes from Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press:
Stanley Johnson on Kevin Durant's comments about Detroit: "That's uncalled for. If he wanted to have an impact on the game he should have just played."
Then, on Kevin Durant: "No one is scared of playing against (Durant) on this side of town."
Johnson on playing OKC next season: "Next year we have two games scheduled and I know for me it's circled on my schedule from now on."
Johnson on the Pistons: "I don't think we're something to play with. I think we can be a playoff team and you gotta respect that."
Johnson on Durant's bashing of Detroit: "I think by saying that he disrespected our whole team."
Johnson on potential rivalry with the Thunder: "If we're competitors like we say we are, he just made a game out of something."
