Isaiah Stewart and Saddiq Bey have been named to each All-Rookie team, Bey was named to the All-Rookie First Team and Stewart named to the Second Team.
Bey, the 19th overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft, is the first Pistons player to be named to the All-Rookie First Team since 2011, and the second since Grant Hill in 1994 to gain such honors. Bey broke numerous Pistons' rookie records in the shortened 2020-2021 NBA season, and broke multiple NBA rookie records as well. Notably surpassing Stephen Curry and Allen Iverson as the rookie with the most games with 5+ three pointers.
Stewart, the 16th overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft, is the first player to make All-Rookie second team since Andre Drummond in the 2012-2013 NBA season. Stewart averaged 7.9 pts, 6.7 rebounds, and shot 55% from the field in an average of 21 minutes per game. Isaiah led all rookies in rebounds and in blocks this season.
Stewart and Bey, two of the Pistons five rookies, making All-Rookie teams signifies that the future of this team seems to be looking scintillating. Detroit continues on with it's 'restoring' of the franchise in aspirations of becoming a championship contender once again. The Pistons are tied for the best odds to land the number one pick in the 2021 NBA Draft, the lottery will take place next week on June 22nd, 2021.
