Rumor: Pistons Will Look to Trade Jodie Meeks
According too MLive's David Mayo, the Detroit Pistons could look to move Jodie Meeks over the 2016 offseason.
From MLive.com:
Trading Meeks and his $6.5 million salary for a draft pick could clear up substantial cap space, for example. The Pistons almost certainly will try to move the oft-injured Meeks this offseason.
Meeks is owed $6.5 million in the final year of his three-year $19 million contract.
He only played in three games during the season for the Pistons. He averaged 7.3 points in 14.3 minutes per game. He shot 44.4% from the three-point line.
The Pistons have multiple shooting guards on their roster besides Meeks. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope blossomed during the season into one of the better two-way guards in the NBA. The Pistons drafted Darrun Hilliard in the 2015 NBA Draft. Detroit also has wingmen Reggie Bullock, who when called upon was a slid option for Detroit.
Meeks never panned out in Detroit, and it appears he has run out of time to fix that.
