Yesterday, Ian Begley of SNY.com reported that the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons have had "more than exploratory" talks about two-time all-star Andre Drummond.
Later in the night, Begley released some more information regarding the two teams' talks, which signals that the Pistons may want Dennis Smith Jr. back in a theoretical package that would send Drummond to the Knicks.

Begley says that some in the Pistons organization are fans of Smith, who has had a troubled tenure with New York since he arrived. He's appeared in just 21 games this season and has averaged a meager 5.2 points and 2.7 assists per game. He has shot a putrid 32.5% from the floor and 29.3% from the 3-point line.

Smith just turned 22 years old, and while he is young, he's not trending in the right direction in terms of performance.
Detroit is looking for picks or young players in a return for Drummond.
