REPORT: Pistons working on extending Andre Drummond
According to Vince Ellis of the Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Pistons are working towards extending all-star big man Andre Drummond. Ellis says that Pistons owner Tom Gores confirmed that the two sides have talked at a “business level” and that Detroit would like to retain Drummond’s services.
Drummond has indicated that he is going to decline his $28.75 million player option for the 2020-21 season in hopes of signing his second max deal in unrestricted free agency. Drummond is eligible for roughly a five year, $190 million contract if he chooses to re-sign in Detroit.
The 6’11” center enters his eighth NBA season holding career averages of 14.1 points, 13.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game.
