REPORT: Pistons Won't Move Derrick Rose Unless He Asks to be Traded

Derrick Rose has been one of the few bright spots for the Detroit Pistons this season. The former MVP has shined coming off the bench in the Motor City while averaging 17.5 points and 5.8 assists per game this season. He's shooting 48.4% from the floor and 33% from the 3-point line.

And while the Pistons future is uncertain with Blake Griffin likely out for the remainder of the season and Andre Drummond seemingly on the way out of the city, they don't plan on moving Rose, one of their best assets.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, the Pistons will not trade Rose unless he were to ask for a trade.

This news came in a story on Rose's success in Detroit, written by Will Gottlieb.

His relationship with Arn Tellem, the team's vice chairman and Rose's former agent, was an important reason he signed in Detroit, and the Pistons won't ship him out unless it's something he asks for, a source told Bleacher Report's Eric Pincus.

Rose is under contract for not just this season, but next year as well. He signed a two-year deal worth about $15 million back on June 30th with Detroit.

Rose, 31, has been a huge boost for the Pistons and has been vital in some big moments for them.

He just hit what ended up being the game-winner on Tuesday versus the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For now, it appears Detroit is focused on moving Drummond with other potential trade pieces including Langston Galloway.
