Report: Pistons Waiving Beno Udrih, Signing Lorenzo Brown
The Detroit Pistons will release veteran point guard Beno Udrih, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.
Udrih has manned the backup point guard spot for Detroit in Reggie Jackson's absence at the beginning of the season and at the end of the season.
In 39 games this year Udrih has averaged 5.8 points and 3.4 assists per game. Detroit is waiving Udrih after he suffered a sprained right knee in last night's win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Detroit will sign Lorenzo Brown to take Udrih's roster spot.
Brown went to training camp with the Pistons before the season began. He was cut from the roster before the regular season began. He spent time overseas before joining the Grand Rapids Drive of the D-League mid-season. He averaged 23.6 points, 7.7 rebounds, and four assists in eleven games.
Update: 11:25 A.M.
The Pistons are unable to sign Lorenzo Brown as the deadline to waive players passed yesterday, according to league rules.

It is unclear if Detroit will be able to make any moves for the rest of the season. If they are unable to, Ish Smith may be the only healthy point guard on the roster. Stan Van Gundy said last night that he would not play Jackson if Udrih was unable to play for the remaining two games.
