Report: Pistons Trading Jon Leuer to Bucks for Tony Snell, 30th pick

The Detroit Pistons are acquiring Tony Snell from the Milwaukee Bucks for Jon Leuer, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Detroit now owns the 15th and the 30th pick in the first round of the draft on Thursday, as well as the 45th pick in the draft.

Snell is under contract through 2020-2021 and will make $11.3 million next season. In 2021, he will make $21.1 million on the year. Snell has a player option for the final year of his contract.

Leuer will be an unrestricted free agent following next season. He will make $9.5 million next season. He signed with Detroit in 2016 and had a strong first season with the Pistons averaging 10.2 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. After an injury in October of the 2017-2018 season, Leuer missed the remainder of the year and only averaged 9.1 minutes in 41 games for Detroit this past season.

Snell, a 6'7" forward, will help address Detroit need for depth on the wing. He is a career 38.2% 3-point shooter and 39.7% last season. He fell out of a stacked rotation on the best team in the east but will play a role for Detroit, most likely off the bench.
