Report: Pistons to Waive Joel Anthony and Cameron Bairstow
Earlier today, the Detroit Pistons signed center Boban Marjanovic to an offer sheet. That is not the only move they are making.
The Pistons will also waive centers Joel Anthony and Cameron Bairst0w, according to MLive's David Mayo.
The Pistons will waive center Joel Anthony and power forward Cameron Bairstow, and renounce the rights to point guard Steve Blake, in order to clear space for Marjanovic, according to a team source who added that Blake still is in the mix to be re-signed as third point guard.
Bairstow was acquired by Detroit in June for point guard Spencer Dinwiddie. Bairstow last played for the Chicago Bulls and never appeared in a game for the Detroit Pistons.
Joel Anthony has played the last two seasons for Detroit. Last year he averaged 0.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in 19 games.
The Spurs are not expected to match the Pistons' offer to Marjanovic.
