Report: Pistons to Build Statue of Franchise Icon Isiah Thomas at LCA

According to Vincent Ellis of The Detroit Free Press, the Detroit Pistons are planning on building a statue at Little Ceasars Arena for Piston icon, Isiah Thomas.

Thomas spent his entire career with the Detroit Pistons. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2002, Thomas was a 12-time all-star with the Pistons. He made the All-NBA team six times throughout his career. He was the star of the Bad Boys, and won two championships with Detroit, while claiming the Finals MVP award in the 1990 NBA Championship.

After starring at Indiana University, Thomas averaged 19.2 points and 9.3 assists in 13 seasons in the league.

Thomas was selected with the second pick in the 1981 draft by the Pistons.

Many are saying that the decision to build a statue in honor of Thomas is overdue, but nonetheless, the Pistons are showing just how important Thomas is to the franchise.
