Bol Bol, 22, is in his third NBA season and has averaged 2.4 points and 1.4 rebounds in 14 appearances this year. He was the 44th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft.
The 7'2 prospect has played a meager 328 minutes throughout his three NBA seasons. Joining a young and rebuilding team in the Pistons, Bol bol may have a greater opportunity to play than he did in Denver, on a contending team with established NBA players ahead of him in their rotation.
Manute Bol, one of the tallest basketball players in the league's history, is the father of Bol Bol. Manute Bol played 10 seasons in the NBA.
McGruder has played for the Pistons in each of the past two seasons and rejoined the team this offseason shortly after Detroit waived him. In 17 games this year, McGruder has averaged 2.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game. McGruder, 30, is a six-year NBA veteran who could be a useful lockerroom presence for a Denver team that is hoping to get healthy for an NBA title run come the spring.
The Nuggets will also receive the Brooklyn Nets' 2022 second-round pick in the trade according to Wojnarowski.
