Report: Pistons Signing Detroit-Native Kay Felder To Two-Way Contract

Starved for point guard help, the Detroit Pistons are signing the recently released Kay Felder according to Shams Charania. Felder was a second-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Felder, a Detroit native who played collegiately in Oakland, Michigan, was recently cut by the Chicago Bulls. He primarily came off the bench in both Cleveland and Chicago, averaging fewer than ten minutes per game. In Detroit, with Reggie Jackson sidelined, Felder should see some time behind Ish Smith and Dwyight Buycks. Buyucks recently had his contract picked up by the Pistons after averaging 8.8 points per game over an eight-game stretch. In 14 games for the Bulls, Felder averaged 3.9 points and 1.4 assists per game. Those numbers are nearly identical to the ones he put up in 42 games with Cleveland. If you listen closely, you can hear Palace of Pistons co-host Aaron Johnson still getting upset that the Pistons took Michael Gbinije over Felder in the NBA Draft. Clearly, time heals everything.
