The deal is reportedly worth the minimum.
McCallum spent time with the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies last season. He averaged 6.9 points and 2.7 assists per game last year with Memphis.
There were rumors during the 2015-2016 season that Detroit was going to sign McCallum, but that never ended up happening. McCallum, 25, has played three years in the league. He was drafted by the Sacramento Kings with the 36th pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
He will be one of the players likely fighting for one of the final roster spots on the team along with point guard Lorenzo Brown, rookie Michael Gbinije, and shooting guard Darrun Hilliard.
