Report: Pistons Sign Mamadou N'Diaye
The Detroit Pistons announced today that they have signed center Mamadou N'Diaye.
N'Diaye went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft out of UC-Irvine. N'Diaye is a big guy. He stands 7'6" and weighs 300 pounds.
He averaged 21.1 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.4 blocks last season at UC Irvine. He played in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Golden State Warriors.
N'Diaye will likely be waived soon by the Pistons. Detroit likely signed him for his player rights. With his player rights, Detroit can have him as an affiliate player on their D-League team, the Grand Rapids Drive. With three centers on the roster in Andre Drummond, Aron Baynes, and Boban Marjanovic, Detroit has no need for N'Diaye right now.
