Report: Pistons Sign Luis Montero to Two-Way Contract
The Detroit Pistons have signed swingman Luis Montero to a two-way contract, according to Jorge Sierra of HoopsHype.
Montero, 26, played with the Portland Trail Blazers in the 2015-2016 season.
He played for both the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings in Summer League earlier in July. He shot over 45 percent from the three-point line with the Kings.
Montero played in the NBA G-League last season with the Reno Bighorns, where he averaged 8.8 points per game.
Detroit now holds the 6'7" forward's G-League rights, unless they waive him. He is allowed to be up with the Pistons for 45 days next season, which means he will spend the majority of the year with the Grand Rapids Drive.
Montero was the first two-way contract signing by the Pistons. They still have one more to use.
