REPORT: Pistons Interested in Spencer Dinwiddie Trade
Per Ian Bagley of SNY, The Pistons and Orlando Magic had expressed interest in trading for Nets' Point Guard, Spencer Dinwiddie at the NBA trade deadline.
The Pistons had drafted Dinwiddie with the 38th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Stan Van Gundy led front office. The Pistons then traded him in 2016 to the Chicago Bulls after their Playoff series against 2016 NBA Champion Cavs.
Since then, the 26 year-old guard has emerged as one of the Nets best players, averaging 20.8 points, and 6.7 assists in the 2019-2020 season. A Dinwiddie acquisition could be helpful to a young, rebuilding team for next season. Dinwiddie could also help the Pistons if they chose to push for the 2021 Playoffs.
What the Pistons would have to send the Nets in a package for Dinwiddie is unknown at this time, however, it was reported the Nets have plans to make Dinwiddie along with Jarrett Allen and Caris Levert available in trade talks this offseason.
