Report: Pistons Interested in CJ Miles
The Detroit Pistons are interested in versatile wingman CJ Miles, according to Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press.
Miles declined a player option with the Pacers yesterday, which means he'll be unrestricted free agent when free agency begins on July 1st.
From Ellis:
A person with firsthand knowledge of the Pistons’ off-season plans told the Free Press this morning Miles “would be on our list.”
The person cautioned that a lot would depend on what happens with restricted free agents Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Reggie Bullock. Speculation says Caldwell-Pope will likely receive a max contract, and that the Pistons will match that. Bullock will likely receive a more lucrative deal elsewhere, making it tough for Detroit to match both Caldwell-Pope's and Bullock's offer sheets.
Miles would be a solid replacement for Bullock. He had a solid year for the Pacers, in which he averaged 10.7 points per game on a career-high 41.3 percent from three-point range.
Miles spent time at shooting guard, small forward, and power forward with Indiana this year. The veteran forward is now 30 years old.
