Dinwiddie is currently recovering from a partially torn right ACL that he injured at the beginning of the season. In college, at the University of Colorado, he suffered a torn left ACL.
Dinwiddie was originally drafted by Stan Van Gundy and the Detroit Pistons with the 38th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. He spent two seasons with the Pistons before signing with the Brooklyn Nets after an impressive short stint in the NBA G League.
He has a $12.3 million player-option at the end of the season.
The 27-year old guard averaged 20.6 points and 6.8 assists last season. He appeared in only three games this year before suffering the ACL injury.
