The Detroit Pistons are on the verge of signing veteran wing Joe Johnson to a contract, according to Jeff Goodman of Stadium.

Goodman also reports that the Pistons will waive Michael Beasley, who they signed to a non-guaranteed contract earlier this offseason, to make room for Johnson on the roster.
Johnson last played in the NBA with the Houston Rockets in the 2017-2018 season. He averaged 6.8 points and 3.1 rebounds per game throughout the 17-18 campaign. He is now 38 years old. He worked out for the Pistons earlier this week.
Beasley declined a lucrative offer from overseas to sign a non-guaranteed deal with Detroit and compete for a spot on the Pistons' roster.
