The Detroit Pistons have reportedly agreed to a three-year, $25 million deal with veteran center Mason Plumlee, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN:
Plumlee, 30, is a bit of a head-scratching first move for new GM Troy Weaver, as the Pistons proved on draft night that the roster is headed for a full-scale rebuild. The Pistons will be paying Plumlee around $9 million annually through his age-33 season, meaning Detroit's front office must be high on the abilities of the former Duke Blue Devil.
In 61 regular-season contests with the Denver Nuggets last season, Plumlee averaged 7.2 points and 5.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game in just 17 minutes, playing a role as a key reserve behind superstar Nikola Jokic. In Detroit, he could be in for a starting role.
