The Pistons will send forward center Kelly Olynyk and Saben Lee - a third-year guard that spent a large junk of his career with the Motor City Cruise - to Utah in exchange for Bogdanović.
Bogdanović, 33, has spent the last three seasons in Utah, averaging 18.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game on 44.7/39.7/88 shooting splits. Last season, the 6'8 forward appeared in 69 games, averaging 18.1 points on 38.7% 3-point shooting.
He will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He is set to make just over $19 million this year.
Olynyk was injured for much of his lone season in Detroit. He averaged just 9.1 points in 40 games on a career-low 44.8 field-goal percentage and 33.6 3-point percentage. He has two seasons remaining on a three-year contract he signed with Detroit last offseason. The final year of his contract is partially guaranteed.
Lee, 23, averaged 5.6 points and 2.9 assists in 37 appearances last season. He spent a large portion of the season with Detroit's G League team, the Motor City Cruise, struggling to upend the likes of Cory Joseph and Killian Hayes in the Pistons guard rotation.
The expectation heading into training camp is that Bogdanović will compete for a spot in Detroit's starting lineup.
