Report: Mother of Zeke Upshaw, Jewel Upshaw Suing NBA, Detroit Pistons, Others After Death of Son
Tragedy struck the Grand Rapids Drive and the rest of the Detroit Pistons organization on March 24th when Drive player Zeke Upshaw collapsed to the floor during the final moments of the Drive's game that night. Upshaw went into cardiac arrest and two days later was pronounced dead.
Now, Upshaw's mother, Jewel Upshaw, is taking legal action. In an announcement by the law firm Ben Crump Law, it was announced the mother is suing the NBA, Detroit Pistons, SSJ Group, ownership of the Grand Rapids Drive, and the Deltaplex Arena. Jewel Upshaw is filing a wrongful death lawsuit against said parties.

The law group is holding a press conference at 11a.m. to formally announce the decision.
