REPORT: Killian Hayes To Avoid Surgery, Will Be Re-Evaluated In Eight Weeks
According to Shams Charania and Keith Langlois, Pistons rookie Killian Hayes will rehab from his right hip injury, avoiding surgery that would have certainly ended his season.
This is relatively good news on a dire situation for Detroit, who invested the seventh pick in the 2020 Draft in Hayes before going down with a right hip injury against the Bucks earlier this season. A subluxation is a "partial dislocation of a joint," which also may increase the chances for Hayes to have further hip issues down the line.
While it remains unclear on when Hayes will return, there is hope that he may continue his rookie campaign in the 2021 season. Hayes was averaging 4.6 points and 3.6 assists per game prior to the injury.
