Report: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope Arrested Wednesday Morning on Suspicion of DUI

Detroit Pistons shooting guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was arrested on Monday morning under the suspicion of driving under the influence, according to Derick Hutchinson of clickondetroit.com. 

The incident occurred at around 2:50 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Caldwell-Pope was reportedly driving 45 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone.

The advanced roadside impairment officer said when he walked up to the car, he smelled alcohol. He put Caldwell-Pope through sobriety tests and placed him under arrest, police said. Caldwell-Pope was "very cooperative" with the officer, authorities said. He was issued a ticket for DUI after a Breathalyzer test at the police station registered his blood-alcohol content at 0.08.

Caldwell-Pope scored 25 points on Tuesday night in the Pistons late loss to the Miami Heat. 

While this likely will not cost Caldwell-Pope the money he is expected to conmand in his pending free agency this upcoming offseason, this is not a good look. 

Luckily, for his and the Pistons sake, he was cooperative with the authorities in handling the situation.
