REPORT: Hawks Prioritizing Steven Adams Over Andre Drummond in Potential Trade
The Atlanta Hawks have been one of the teams interested in trading for Detroit Pistons' center Andre Drummond. According to Ian Begley of SNY.com, the Hawks, however, may have their sights set on another big.
Begley reports that Atlanta may covet Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams over Drummond, and will make Adams a higher priority.

This comes piggybacking off reports that the New York Knicks are interested in trading for Drummond and their discussions with Detroit have been "more than just exploratory."

Something worth noting on the Hawks and Pistons: several teams in touch with the Hawks recently came away with the impression that the club prioritizes trading for Oklahoma City's Steven Adams over Drummond. As Yahoo noted, Drummond has a strong relationship with Hawks star Trae Young.
Adams is a defensive-minded big who is under contract for the rest of this season as well as the 2020-2021 campaign. He has averaged 12 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this year.
The Hawks have some enticing assets, including the Brooklyn Nets 2020 first-round pick, Cam Reddish, and most intriguing of all, DeAndre Hunter. This is assuming the likes of Trae Young, John Collins, and Kevin Huerter are off the table in trade discussions.
Drummond, 26, has averaged 17.8 points and a league-leading 16.2 rebounds per game this season. He has a player option at the end of the season, which he is expected to decline.
