The deal is said to be for 5-years and around $130 million. Drummond’s deal to re-sign with Detroit is for the max. There is a player option after the fourth year.
Drummond had a career year with the Pistons last season. He averaged 16.2 points and 14.8 rebounds per game. He also averaged over a steal and a block per contest.
Drummond was drafted by Detroit in the 2012 NBA Draft with the 9th overall pick. He has spent his entire career a Piston, and that will not change.
There was never any doubt that the Pistons would re-sign Drummond. The Pistons and Drummond have always been committed to each other.
Detroit has already added Ish Smith in free agency, and still has $15 million left in cap space.
