Ray McCallum and Chris Horton to Attend D-League Elite Mini Camp
The Grand Rapids Drive, the NBA D-League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, will have two players representing them at the D-League Elite Mini Camp on May 8th and 9th.
PalaceOfPistons.com has learned that Ray McCallum and Chris Horton will attend the camp in Chicago next week.
McCallum averaged 17.6 points. seven assists, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game. He earned two 10-day contracts with the Charlotte Hornets in February.
Horton spent his rookie season with the Drive, averaging 6.2 points and 5.5 rebounds in just 18.6 minutes per game. He went undrafted in the 2016 NBA Draft. Horton mainly came off the bench for the Drive, although he was one of their few true big men on the roster after Grand Rapids traded Nikola Jovanovic, who also will be at the camp.
From the D-League:
The NBA Development League’s eighth annual Elite Mini Camp, a two-day scouting event featuring some of the league’s top prospects, tips off on May 8 at Chicago’s Quest Multisport gym with about 40 players scheduled to attend.
Before the NBA Draft’s top prospects converge in the Windy City for their Combine, the NBA D-League’s camp offers standouts from the past season another chance to perform in front of NBA team personnel in advance of Summer Leagues and 2017 training camps. The camp takes place next week.
