Game Recap: Pistons Survive Hornets After Defensive Meltdown

The Detroit Pistons scraped by the Charlotte Hornets tonight, 115-114, in what was a very entertaining finish.

There were many stars in this game for Detroit, as Boban Marjanovic (quietly emerging as one of the league's best centers) had a career night going for 15 points and 19 rebounds with Drummond in foul trouble for most of the night. Tobias Harris had another great game off the bench, scoring 25 while Marcus Morris also had a 20-10 game albeit on inefficient shooting. Reggie Jackson put the game in his hands, scoring some late buckets and finishing with 22 and 11 assists.

For Charlotte, the star was Kemba Walker, who scored 20 in the fourth to bring Charlotte back into it. Sharpshooters Spencer Hawes and Marvin Williams also put up points, including Hawes' game-tying 3 with just a few ticks left.

The Pistons had the lead for most of the game, almost losing it in the third but went on a late run to stretch the lead to 15 going into the 4th. The Pistons allowed FORTY-FOUR fourth quarter points from Charlotte after an otherwise stout defensive performance. With the Pistons up two, Morris drew a dead ball foul resulting in a free throw for Charlotte, bringing it to a one-point game. Marco Bellinelli then threw up a prayer, which he made, but was called off as it was released after the buzzer.

What. A. Game.

After a much needed Pistons victory, they take on Portland on Saturday.
