Game Recap: Pistons Struggle Mightily in Sixth Straight Loss
The Boston Celtics have defeated the Detroit Pistons 91-81, in a game that was one to forgot for both teams, but especially the Pistons. It had the looks of a slugfest early on, as both teams had trouble putting the ball in the hoop in the first half, culminating in a 44-37 lead for Boston at halftime.
Detroit had a few droughts without scoring for multiple minutes throughout the game and by the time the team woke up, Boston has already caught fire. Tobias Harris led the team with 19 points, followed by Anthony Tolliver with 15. Andre Drummond failed to record a field goal until the fourth quarter, which is strange as he usually feasts on Boston's interior defense.
Boston also struggled for the majority of the game, but game planning at halftime gave them the edge for most of the second half. It was a team effort for the Celtics, as they were led by Al Horford who recorded 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, while Kyrie Irving also contributed 16. Aron Baynes corralled 13 rebounds but was the only Boston starter who didn't eclipse the double digit points mark.
Detroit takes on Denver next as they attempt to resume a very solid start that is quickly unraveling. Boston, now 23-5, take on Chicago tomorrow.
