Game Recap: Pistons Show Up Late to Defeat Clippers
The Detroit Pistons have defeated the Los Angeles Clippers 95-87, giving LA it's first loss of the season.
The Pistons got out to an early lead in the first quarter, but constant foul calls killed Detroit's momentum, eventually culminating to a 10-point deficit at the half . The pairing of Andre Drummond and Reggie Jackson were the catalysts to the second half comeback, as Dre finished with 15 points and a season high 17 rebounds, while Jackson finished with 15 with a few clutch baskets in the fourth quarter. Along with those two, the bench duo of Anthony Tolliver and Langston Galloway caught fire to seal the victory for the Pistons, including this putback slam from Tolliver.
After his torrid start to the season, Blake Griffin struggled to score outside of free throws, shooting 5-18 for the game. Austin Rivers was the key factor of the Clippers offense tonight, getting all of his field goals from 3-point range and keeping LA ahead for the majority of the game.
This victory pushes Detroit to 4-2, tied for second in the Eastern Conference. The Clippers fall to 4-1, losing their first game to the Pistons at Staples Center since November 2010. The Pistons take on Golden State at the Oracle Arena tomorrow night.
