Game Recap: Pistons Continue Skid in Loss to Raptors
The Toronto Raptors have defeated the Detroit Pistons 87-75, handing Detroit its third straight loss.
It was a frustrating game for the Pistons on the offensive end, as the team shot a ghastly 15% from deep and 34% overall and a game in which only three players scored in double digits. Reggie Jackson led the team with 20, Tobias Harris had 14 and 7 rebounds while Drummond contributed in other ways corralling 22 rebounds in the loss.
Through the first three quarters, the Raptors weren't looking any better than Detroit, as they were down going into the fourth before heating up on offense and defense. Toronto was led by recently acquired Serge Ibaka with 16 points, while superstar Demar Derozan had a very quite game, only totaling 14 points on an inefficient 33%.
While the Pistons defense wasn't bad, the offense was very troubling for a team that is fighting for a playoff spot with four or so other teams. The Pistons are now out of a playoff spot and sit at 9th in the conference at 33-36 as Miami and Milwaukee have leapfrogged them in recent days. Toronto moves to 40-29 and stays pat at 4th in the East. The Pistons have a very weak schedule for the next couple weeks and must take advantage in order to earn a playoff spot.
