NBA Schedule: Dwane Casey's Return to Toronto, and Other Important Games for the Pistons
The Detroit Pistons full schedule has been released this afternoon by the team. Detroit will open up the season on October 17th against the Brooklyn Nets.
In no surprise, the Pistons will play 82 games, 42 at home and 42 on the road. Crazy, I know.
But, there Detroit certainly has some intriguing games throughout the upcoming season. Here are the Pistons most intriguing games of the season.
November 14th: Detroit Pistons at Toronto Raptors
Dwane Casey will return to Toronto just one time this season after the franchise fired him as their head coach following a loss in the playoffs to the Cleveland Cavaliers. That return will take place on November 14th when Detroit will face Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors at the Air Canada Centre. Casey had been the head coach in Toronto for the past seven years of his career.
December 1st: Golden State Warriors at Detroit Pistons
As usual, the Detroit Pistons will host the Golden State Warriors once this season, as always with Western Conference teams. Detroit will welcome the Warriors to begin the month of December, a challenging month for the Pistons, as 11 of their 15 opponents that month played in the postseason last year. This will be the first time the Warriors see Detroit with Blake Griffin on their roster. DeMarcus Cousins, the marquee signing for Golden State in the offseason, will likely still be rehabbing from his ACL injury.

December 7th: Philadelphia 76ers at Detroit Pistons
Detroit will have already seen the 76ers by December 4th, but this matchup will take place on ESPN, the Pistons' first game on that network of the season. Like Golden State, the Sixers have never faced Detroit with Blake Griffin on the team, which should lead to a fun contest. Philadelphia dominated Detroit in their matchups last season so Detroit should be ready to switch roles this time around.
January 12th: Detroit Pistons at Los Angeles Clippers
Blake Griffin will make his long-awaited return to Los Angeles on January 12th to face his former team, the Los Angeles Clippers. Griffin was traded from the Clippers last season, after signing a long-term max contract extension in the previous offseason. While Detroit did play the Los Angeles after the Griffin trade last season, it was in an affair at Little Caesars Arena.
