NBA Draft: Pistons Trade For 37th Pick, Take Deividas Sirvydis
The Detroit Pistons have traded the 45th pick, a 2020 second round pick and 2021 second round pick to the Dallas Mavericks for the 37th pick in this years draft. With that pick, the Pistons selected Lithuianian swingman Deividas Sirvydis.
Sirvydis just turned 19 years-old and has most recently played for Lietuvos Rytas where he had averages of 5.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 14.2 minutes per game while shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and 46.3 percent from three.
The sharpshooting lefty adds height and depth to the Pistons wings, who have needed a desperate upgrade.
Sirvydis was named MVP of the Adidas Next Generation Tournament at the EuroLeague Final last May, after leading Lietuvos Rytas’ U18 team to a championship.
"I am looking forward to showing that I am more than just a 3-point shooter," Sirvydis said to ESPN. "I believe that, if given the opportunity, I can succeed in the pick-and-roll and be a playmaker. That being said, I am ready to accept whatever role my coaches want me to play."
Sirvydis could turn into a Euro-Stash player for the Pistons due to his age and his contract in Europe.
