Jon Leuer Underwent Surgery for Right Meniscus Injury, Timetable for Return Uncertain
After being riddled by injuries last season the Detroit Pistons have been stung again. Jon Leuer who played in just eight games last season after suffering an ankle injury in October, underwent surgery on his right meniscus yesterday. The surgery was done after sustaining a right medial meniscus injury.
The Pistons say the injury occurred in an offseason workout earlier this week.
Leuer will begin rehab immediately and is his timetable for return is uncertain.
The injury is crippling to a Pistons team that had high expectations for Leuer this upcoming season. It was anticipated that the 6'11" big man would see a high dosage of minutes at both power forward and center after the departure of Anthony Tolliver this offseason.
He averaged 5.4 points and four rebounds in 17 minutes per game last season.
The Pistons said they will provide an update on Leuer's status prior to the beginning of training camp.
