Game Recap: Pistons Upset Warriors in Steph Curry’s Return

The Detroit Pistons have defeated the Golden State Warriors 111-102 in superstar and two-time MVP Stephen Curry's return from an 11-game absence. The Pistons rode it close against the defending champs early on, and eventually pulled ahead and never looked back as they pulled ahead in the second half. Included in Blake Griffin's team-high 26 points was this crafty pump fake and one-handed slam early in the first half:

https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js Reggie Jackson's late-game heroics, Andre Drummond's fantastic interior play, and Stanley Johnson's invigorated bench play also propelled the Pistons to the upset win. Jackson finished with 17 points and five rebounds while Drummond continued his double-double dominance with 16 points and 19 rebounds. However, Drummond again struggled with his free throws once again, with the Warriors reverting to hack-a-Drummond late game. Stanley led the Pistons in scoring in the first half and finished with 19 off the bench, along with his usual superb defense. The Warriors were led by their "Big 3" and virtually no one else, with Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and the newly-returned Curry all scored 20-plus points, with Durant leading all scorers with 28. In fact, the only other player to score over four points was third-year center Damion Jones, who finished with nine. Hopefully the Pistons who are now on a five-game winning streak, can keep up their play against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday. The Pistons move to 13-7 and remain in the Eastern Conference's fourth seed, while the Warriors continue to underperform at 15-9. (Featured image by Carlos Osorio/AP)
