Game Recap: Jeremy Lamb's Game-Winner Hands Pistons Sixth Straight Loss
The Detroit Pistons have been defeated by the Charlotte Hornets 108-107 in another game the Pistons needed to close out, but failed. The Pistons started slow, per usual, going down 12 after the first quarter and Andre Drummond letting Charlotte's big men get whatever they wanted inside. From then on, things were looking up for Detroit, as they dominated on defense and hit their 3-pointers at a surprisingly efficient clip, which eventually led to a double-digit lead. Free throws were drawn, Kemba Walker did Kemba Walker things, and everything went wrong in the final minutes as the Pistons continue to search for their first victory since December 1. Outside of some late-game free throws that went on to cost the Pistons the game, Blake Griffin was excellent, with 26 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, and three 3-pointers. Andre Drummond and Langston Galloway also contributed big games with 14 points and 13 rebounds and 17 points off the bench, respectively. The Hornets were led by Kemba Walker, who, despite having an off shooting night, he still finished with 31 points, eight rebounds, and nine assists along with some clutch late-game play. Charlotte's other point guard, Tony Parker, finished with 16 points off the bench as his quickness still got the best of the Pistons' guards even during the twilight of his career. Cody Zeller and Willy Hernangomez combined for 25 points and 12 rebounds, as the pair of centers did most of their damage in the first quarter. In the end, after a game mostly dominated (to an extent) by Detroit, it was a late game run the Hornets and a contested jumper from Jeremy Lamb that gave the Hornets the victory:

The Pistons fall to 13-13, further proving that their early success may have been a fluke. They have another challenge as they play the Boston Celtics in their next one. With Charlotte's win and Detroit's loss, the Pistons have fallen to the Eastern Conference's seventh seed, four games back of the fourth seed. Featured Image: (Raj Mehta/USA Today Sports)
