The Detroit Pistons(3-2) defeated the Charlotte Hornets(1-4) 116-110, in the Pistons final preseason game of the year.
Andre Drummond led Detroit with 17 points, 15 rebounds, and four assists. Markieff Morris, who started in the place of the injured Blake Griffin, also scored 17 points. Tim Frazier recorded a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 12 assists in 35 minutes. Langston Galloway added 18 points off the bench.
Charlotte, who played pesky throughout the entire game, stayed afloat by the reigns of Malik Monk, who looked good ending the night with 18 points and seven assists. PJ Washington, Cody Zeller, Kobi Simmons, and Caleb Martin all scored 12 points apiece for the Hornets.
Detroit dominated on the glass, outrebounding the Hornets 46-37. On the offensive glass, Detroit secured 15 second chance opportunities. Drummond had five offensive rebounds in 27 minutes.
Turnovers were once again an issue for Detroit, as they committed 19 as a team. Drummond had seven alone. No other Piston had more than two. Charlotte committed 18 turnovers themselves, with Devonte Graham(5) and Dwayne Bacon(4) leading them in that statistic.
The Pistons were without Griffin, Reggie Jackson, Luke Kennard, and Derrick Rose.
Detroit begins the regular season next week on Wednesday the 23rd versus the Indiana Pacers.
