Game Preview: Zach Lavine Makes His Season Debut as Pistons Meet Bulls
The Detroit Pistons(22-18) head to the Windy City tonight as they face the Chicago Bulls(15-27) at 8:00 p.m.
The Pistons blew out the Brooklyn Nets in their last game, 114-80. Andre Drummond was magnificent, scoring 22 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, and dishing out five assists in the win. It was the third time he had completed such a feat. Tobias Harris had 22 points as well. Dwight Buycks, who just had his two-way deal with Detroit converted to a standard contract, scored 17 points off the bench.
After tearing his ACL against the Pistons last season, Zach Lavine will make his season debut tonight for the Bulls, the team he was traded to in the offseason as part of the Jimmy Butler deal. Rookie Lauri Markkanen, who was also acquired in the Butler deal, scored a career-high 33 points on Wednesday when the Bulls beat the New York Knicks.
Injuries
Detroit will be without Reggie Jackson(ankle) and Jon Leuer(ankle). Stanley Johnson(hip) is questionable tonight. Johnson returned from a hip injury after missing five games against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday but seems to have re-injured his hip.
Cameron Payne(foot) is out for the Bulls. Zach Lavine(ACL) is on a 20-minute limit restriction.
