Game Preview: Winless Sixers Travel to Detroit to Face Pistons
The Detroit Pistons(2-1) face the Philadelphia 76ers(0-3) tonight in downtown Detroit at Little Ceasers Arena. The game beings at 7 p.m.
Philadelphia has started off the year 0-3, after entering the season with playoff ambitions. While those hopes are certainly not squandered yet, the 76ers need to start putting some wins together soon.
They dropped their last game to the Toronto Raptors in blowout fashion, 128-94. Joel Embiid missed the game, as the 76ers are not allowing him to play in both games of a back-to-back set. Ben Simmons led the way for Philly, as he scored 18 points, pulled down 10 rebounds, and dished out eight assists. Jerryd Bayless, who is starting over Markelle Fultz, scored 16 points and added three rebounds.
The Pistons are currently 7th place in the Eastern Conference, but could be in a much worse position had they lost a close one to the New York Knicks on Saturday. Detroit luckily won, after coming from behind in the fourth quarter.
Tobias Harris continues to star for Detroit. He had a team-high 31 points in the victory. Andre Drummond had his best game of the season, scoring 21 points and corralling 12 rebounds. He also had a huge block late in the game to help Detroit win the game. Reggie Jackson continues to look better and better, as he finished with 16 points and seven assists.
The Sixers are averaging 18 turnovers per game, compared to Detroit averaging 13.7. Both teams are averaging just around 21 assists.
