Game Preview: Spurs Well Rested as Pistons Look to Avoid Three Straight Losses
The Detroit Pistons(14-8) continue their four-game road trip tonight as they face the San Antonio Spurs(15-8) tonight at the AT&T Center. The game begins at 8:30 p.m.
The Spurs rested four of their top players in LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili in their defeat last night at the hands of the Oklahoma City Thunder. Tonight all four of those players are expected to return against Detroit. Dejounte Murray led the way for San Antonio, socring 17 points, grabbing 11 boards, and dishing out five dimes in the loss. Davis Bertans scored 16 points on 4-9 shooting from the 3-point line off the bench. The Spurs were outrebounded 47-39 and were limited to just 14 assists while turning the ball over 17 times.
Detroit has dropped their first two games of their four-game roadtrip, falling to the John Wall-less Wizards and the Philadlphia 76ers. While Tobias Harris(27 points and 7 rebounds, Reggie Jackson(25 points) and Andre Drummond(14 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and five steals) were all great, Detroit's supporting cast was nowhere to be found in Saturday's loss to Philadelphia. No bench player besides Luke Kennard(nine points) scored more than six points. Avery Bradlet struggled shooting the ball again, as he scored six points on 3-11 shooting.
Injuries
Jon Leuer remains out, as Stan Van Gundy announced last week he'll miss the next 2-4 weeks of the year.
Kawhi Leonard has not played in a game yet for San Antonio this year, but was doing some on court work last night before their game. Kyle Anderon suffered a left knee injury last night and is set to undergo an MRI on that knee. He'll likely miss tonight's game.
