Game Preview: Pistons Travel to Brooklyn for Meeting with Nets
The Detroit Pistons(34-36) face the Brooklyn Nets(13-56) tonight at the Barclays Center. The game begins at 7:30 p.m.
The Nets have lost two straight games entering tonight. Their latest defeat comes at the hands of the Dallas Mavericks, who beat Brooklyn, 111-104. The Nets were led by Brook Lopez and former Detroit Piston, Spencer Dinwiddie. Lopez scored 27 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Dinwiddie scored 18 points off the bench and added seven assists.
Jeremy Lin left the game for Brooklyn with 4:35 left in the first quarter. Reports indicate that Lin sprained his right ankle on a drive to the basket. Lin did not return to the game. Guards Sean Kilpatrick and Joe Harris did not play.
The Nets are 3-7 in their last 10 games.
Detroit exploded in the fourth quarter to beat the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 23 points and dished out eight assists in the win. Andre Drummond finished with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Aron Baynes was fantastic, scoring 13 points and securing a career-high 17 rebounds off the bench in 18 minutes.
It was a worrisome game for Detroit, who once again started the night off slow. The Suns rested Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, and Tyson Chandler.
