Game Recap: Pistons Nearly Stun Cavs

The Pistons played in their first playoff game since 2009 earlier today, against the Cleveland Cavaliers.

For the Pistons, things were going well for them in the first half.

Then, the Big Three took over.

Detroit played a very competitive and eye-opening first half in Cleveland on Sunday afternoon. Led by Marcus Morris and his 19 points, the Pistons were up 58-53 at the end of the first half. They were on fire from the field, shooting 61% from the field, and 63% from behind the arc.

The Pistons were well on their way to stunning the Cleveland Cavaliers, and hand LeBron James his first Round One Game One loss in his playoff history.

Then, LeBron James and a pair of his pals took over.

The Cavs would win the game 106-101 by the time the game clock ran to 0:00. James flirted with a triple-double, posting 22 points, 11 assists, and 6 rebounds. Kyrie Irving, who played a great third quarter, finished with a post season high 31 points. Kevin Love also set a career high in the playoffs, notched 28 points and dominated for Cleveland late in the game.

For Detroit, Reggie Jackson finished with 17 points and 7 assists. Andre Drummond, who had a very slow first half, finished with 13 points and 11 boards. Marcus Morris finished with 20 points, after scoring 19 in the first half. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope who also had a great first half, finished with 21 points. Stanley Johnson played well for the Pistons off the bench, as he nearly notched a double-double with 9 points and 8 rebounds in only 16 minutes.

Game 2 is Wednesday night in Cleveland at 8P.M.
