Game Preview: Pistons Look to Rebound After Loss to Pelicans in Meeting with Sixers
The Detroit Pistons(29-32) are in Philadelphia tonight as they face the Philadelphia 76ers(23-38) at 6 p.m. est.
The Sixers took down the New York Knicks last night 105-201. They had dropped their three previous games. Rookie forward Dario Saric scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. He has become the focal point of the Sixers offense with the recent news that Joel Embiid will miss the rest of the season. He was 7-15 from the field but went just 1-5 from the three-point line. Defensive ace, Robert Covington, did everything, scoring 16 points, grabbing four rebounds, dishing out three assists, and blocking five shots. Justin Anderson, who the Sixers acquired at the trade deadline for Nerlens Noel, added 19 points off the bench.
The Sixers signed Justin Harper, who played with the Pistons last year, to a 10-day contract yesterday. He missed his only shot attempt but did grab a rebound in the win.
Detroit, on the other hand, lost their last game. Anthony Davis poured in 33 points and 14 rebounds in the Pelicans 109-86 win over the Pistons. Jon Leuer led the way for Detroit, scoring 22 points and collecting seven rebounds. Andre Drummond recorded another double-double, finishing with 13 points and 17 rebounds. Tobias Harris added 15 points off the bench. The Pistons shot a horrific 3/13 from the three-point line and 3-17 from the free throw line. Their outing from the free throw line was the worst in NBA history(minimum of 10 attempts).
