Game Preview: Pistons look for Three Straight Wins in Meeting with Hornets
In an early day affair, the Detroit Pistons(6-5) host the Charlotte Hornets(6-6) at Little Ceasers Arena. The game tops off at 3:30p.m.
Detroit is coming off a pair of wins against sub .500 teams in the Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks. The Pistons hung 124 points on the Hawks on Friday, while Blake Griffin recorded just six points, a shocking outcome. Andre Drummond led the pack, finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds. Stanley Johnson shined in his new role off the bench, scoring 22 points on 8-16 shooting, while adding seven rebounds, three steals, and two assists.
Detroit finally started to hit shots from the 3-point line, an area in which they have struggled mightily in so far this season. On Friday they connected on 42.6 percent off their shots from deep. While they turned the ball over 20 and 19 times against the Miami Heat and Magic respectively, the Pistons squandered the ball just 10 times versus Atlanta.
The Hornets dropped a tough one on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers, 133-132 in a game that spanned into overtime. Kemba Walker flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 30 points, nine assists, and seven rebounds. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist added 12 points and 12 boards off the bench.
The Hornets are currently seventh place in the Eastern Conference, with Detroit right ahead of them in sixth.
Injuries
Detroit will be without Luke Kennard(ankle). He will be re-evaluated in one week.
Jeremy Lamb(groin) is probable to play for Charlotte.
