Game Preview: Pistons Look for Revenge Against Cavs
The Pistons fell valiantly to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game One of their NBA Playoff series on Sunday afternoon, 106-101.
In that game, the Pistons played a marvelous first half, but fell apart late in the game. The Big Three from Cleveland torched Detroit for 81 points.
As stated, things fell apart for Detroit late. The Pistons offense in the second half was stagnant, and Marcus Morris who scored 19 points in the first half, did not make a field goal in the third and fourth quarters. Reggie Jackson received a technical foul at a pivotal moment in the 4th quarter, that put the Cavs up by five.
Stan Van Gundy was fined yesterday for comments he made about the officiating in the game.
But, on to the next one.
The Pistons, who traveled back to Michigan after the game, will be back in Cleveland for Game Two. The Cavaliers lead the series 1-0. This is the final home game for Cleveland, before they head to Detroit for Games 3 and 4.
Probable Starting Lineups:
Pistons
PG: Reggie Jackson
SG: Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
SF: Marcus Morris
PF: Tobias Harris
C: Andre Drummond
Cavaliers
PG: Kyrie Irving
SG: J.R. Smith
SF: LeBron James
PF: Kevin Love
C: Tristan Thompson
What to watch for:
Kevin Love was dealt for the Cavaliers on Sunday. He notched a playoff career high, with 28 points, and nailed four threes in the game. Love was moved to the five in the fourth quarter, which destroyed the Pistons defense. Cleveland's ball movement was able to completely knock Detroit out of whack. The Pistons may need to find a new scheme to stop Cleveland's death lineup with Love at center.
Game Two is tonight at 8P.M. on TNT.
