The Pistons fell to the Toronto Raptors in their first game of the season 109-91. DeMar DeRozan torched the Pistons on Wednesday, going for 40 points in Toronto's win. Jonas Valanciunas dominated every Piston bigman that came his way, as he exploded for 32 points and 11 rebounds. Tobias Harris had 22 points and five rebounds for Detroit. Marcus Morris nearly went for a double-double, scoring 17 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
The Pistons offense struggled mightily on Wednesday. Here is what Stan Van Gundy said after the game:
"We've got some offensive problems but we knew that was going to be a little bit of a struggle."

Detroit played without Reggie Jackson, as they will do tonight. Ish Smith had six points and seven assists in 33 minutes. Recently acquired Beno Udrih played nearly 15 minutes, scoring five points and assisting on two shots.
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope played 39 minutes, but only scored four points on 2-9 shooting. He shot 0-3 from the three-point line.
Jon Leuer and Aron Baynes were solid for the Pistons off the bench. Jon Leuer finished with nine points and nine rebounds, while Baynes scored eight points and grabbed three rebounds.
The Magic lost the Miami Heat 108-96 on Wednesday. The Magic only played eight players, as Bismack Biyombo was suspended for the first game of the season. He will play tonight for Orlando. The expectation is that he will come off the bench.
Detroit needs to send the ball inside early. The Heat scored 79 of their 104 points against the Magic in the paint. Their guards, Goran Dragic, Tyler Johnson, and Dion Waiters all forced themselves to the basket where they were able to score or find their bigman down low.
The Pistons look to pick up their first win of the season versus the Magic tonight.
