Game Preview: Pistons Host Cavs after Cleveland's Impressive Win Versus Golden State

The Detroit Pistons(14-18) host the Cleveland Cavaliers(23-6) tonight at 7:30 PM EST at The Palace of Auburn Hills.

The Cavaliers come into this game after playing yesterday in a thriller against the Golden State Warriors. They won the game 109-108 as Kyrie Irving hit the game-winning bucket to defeat Golden State. Irving flirted with a triple-double, finishing with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. LeBron James had 31 points and 13 rebounds. Irving played 44 minutes, while James played 40. Both of them may rest tonight against the Pistons as there is no official word.

Coach Tyronn Lue was happy with his team following the win:

"We're playing good basketball, we're playing team basketball, making the right plays, the right passes and our defense has really picked up," he said. "We're playing well defensively and when we do that we're able to get out in transition and get our open threes and get to the basket and things like that."

The Pistons are currently on a five-game losing streak, and it will not be easy for them to get out of the skid tonight. In their last game, they fell to the Warriors 119-113. It was a competitive game all the way through, but Detroit fell just short in the end. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope led the way for Detroit, scoring 25 points on 9-18 shooting in the win. Reggie Jackson had 17 points and seven assists. A couple of late game offensive rebounds hurt Detroit's comeback attempt.

The Pistons will use the same lineup that they used against Golden State. They replaced Tobias Harris, who scored 26 points off the bench, with Jon Leuer. Leuer in his first start finished with eight points and seven rebounds.

The Pistons will have to respond after what happened last time against Cleveland. In their last game, they lost 114-81 earlier in the season. Kyrie Irving had 25 points and 11 assists for the Cavaliers.
